Skiing in the resort of Samoens

Samoëns is a ski resort in the French Alps. The ski resort of Samoens is linked with the large Grand Massif ski area. The village of Samones itself is a small unspoilt Alpine village that is full of character and charm.

Samoens has a small and traffic free centre with narrow streets, stone fountain, a church, an ancient linden tree and other traditional buildings. Each Wednesday there is a market in the square.

Non-ski activities in Samoens village include dog-sledding, indoor climbing and skating but also some more unusual activities such as archery in the forest, caving, ice climbing or diving under ice!

Being at the heart of the Giffre Valley, the very pretty village of Samoens Grand Massif is only a 20 minute drive from the motorway exit near the TGV train station of Cluses and only 55km from Geneva making your ski holidays in Samoens easily accessible.

A free shuttle bus operates around Samoens and offers rides to the slopes, Morillon and Sixt, every 20 minutes.
